Jennifer Marotta, MA, RP

Registered Psychotherapist

Hi 👋 I’m Jennifer.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and have worked with community mental health and family service organizations throughout the Peel region.

Over the years, I’ve supported individuals and families through a wide range of challenges, with particular experience supporting people affected by intimate partner violence. These experiences have shaped my belief that therapy needs to be compassionate, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed, while recognizing that every person’s experiences, identities and circumstances are unique.

I take the time to understand the person behind the concerns that bring you to therapy. My approach is eclectic and client-centred, drawing from evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gottman Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

How I Help Individuals

I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, interpersonal relationships, self-identity, parenting, anger management, disability, unemployment and other challenges that can affect emotional well-being.

I also work with clients exploring questions around gender and sexual identity and provide a supportive space to better understand yourself, your experiences and what you want for your life.

My goal is to help you work toward your cognitive, emotional and behavioural goals while developing greater self-understanding and practical strategies for navigating life's challenges.

How I Help Couples

Relationships can be deeply meaningful, but they can also bring conflict, disconnection and difficult patterns that can be hard to change on your own.

I work with couples to improve communication, understand each other's needs and strengthen their connection. Using approaches including Gottman Couples Therapy, I help couples explore the patterns within their relationship and work toward healthier ways of relating to one another.

Whether you're experiencing ongoing conflict, struggling to communicate or simply want to strengthen your relationship, therapy can provide a supportive space to work through these challenges together.

I’m currently accepting new clients and would be honoured to support you on your journey toward greater emotional well-being and personal growth.
