Marie Chong, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Hi 👋 I’m Marie.
I’m a Registered Social Worker with over five years of experience supporting individuals in hospital and community settings. My experience has given me the opportunity to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and at different stages of life, including individuals navigating mental health challenges, medical concerns and developmental disabilities.
Earlier in my career, I worked as a Social Worker on the Geriatric and Medicine Unit at Mississauga Hospital. I also have several years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis. These experiences have shaped my compassionate and practical approach to therapy and strengthened my belief in meeting each person where they are.
I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Strengths-Based Therapy. I tailor our work to your individual needs, goals and circumstances, with a focus on building on your strengths and developing practical tools for navigating life's challenges.
How I Help Individuals
I support individuals who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression and other challenges that may be affecting their emotional well-being and day-to-day life.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure how to move forward. Therapy can provide a space to slow down, better understand what you're experiencing and develop strategies that can help you feel more equipped to manage life's challenges.
My goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and respected. Together, we'll work toward greater understanding, build on your existing strengths and develop practical tools that support meaningful change.
I’m currently accepting new clients and look forward to supporting you on your journey.
